Brent D. Glass

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Brent D. Glass is the Executive Director of Sing Sing Prison Museum and Director Emeritus of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. A national leader in the preservation, interpretation and promotion of history, Glass is a public historian who pioneered influential oral history and material culture studies, an author, television presence and international speaker on cultural diplomacy and museum management. Glass earned his doctorate in history from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, a master’s degree in American Studies from New York University, and bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College. He also completed the program for government executives at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He writes extensively on topics ranging from state-of-the-museum blogs to public memory, historic preservation and industrial history.

Amy Hufnagel

​ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Amy Hufnagel (she/her/we) is the Assistant Director of the Sing Sing Prison Museum. Previously she served as the Director of Programs & Visitor Experience at the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center in Hartford, CT and the Vice President of Interpretation & Engagement at OLANA in Hudson, NY. She was the Executive Director of The Alice Austen House Museum within the New York City Parks Department and the NYC Historic House Trust, and the Director of Programs and Education for the New York State Alliance for Arts Education (in partnership with NYS Department of Cultural Education) and headed the Education Department at the New York Foundation for the Arts (in partnership with NYS Council on the Arts).  Her work for the last two decades has centered on expanding historic narratives to always share the authority with audiences while presenting a multiplicity of stories and changing perspectives rooted in primary sources and artifacts. ​

Lee Colón

COLLECTIONS CURATOR & PROGRAMS MANAGER

Lee Colón is the Collections Curator and Programs Manager at the Sing Sing Prison Museum. Previously, she held curatorial positions at The Museum of Modern Art and the Princeton University Art Museum, and managed the Dia Art Foundation’s oral history program. Between 2018 and 2023, she was managing editor of the journal ArtMargins, published by MIT Press. Her research and writing focuses on modern and contemporary art, with particular interest in art’s intersection with histories of medicine, technology, and science. She holds graduate degrees from Princeton University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), and a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College.

Robert Rose

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Robert Rose is a Communications Manager at Sing Sing Prison Museum and a researcher, with a focus on dismantling the prison industrial complex and working towards improving the lives of people currently incarcerated. He has contributed to a multitude of reports with organizations including Worth Rises, the Sing Sing Quaker Worship Group, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.He has also worked as a research fellow with Columbia University’s Center for Justice and as the Production Manager for TEDx Sing Sing, with the theme of Creating Healthy Communities. He earned a Bachelor of Science in 2007 (Mercy College) and a Master of Professional Studies in 2008 (New York Theological Seminary).

Minerva "Mimi" Coffie

MUSEUM ASSOCIATE
Minerva “Mimi” Coffie is a Museum Associate at Sing Sing Prison Museum and criminal justice activist. Mimi is also the Founder of La-Madrina Entertainment, a production company that honors her Latino heritage and is dedicated to sharing relatable stories with the world. She has previously worked as a fashion pioneer at FUBU where she led advertising, marketing, and public relations and has also served as a producer, actor, and writer for productions. Mimi earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts & Theater from The City University of New York’s City College.

Alissa Lazaro

MUSEUM ASSOCIATE
Alissa Lazaro is a Museum Associate at the Sing Sing Prison Museum. She has a strong background in administration, and also has experience in publicity, editing, and content creation. Alissa is a small business owner, and has worked as an administrative assistant for other small businesses. When not working at the Museum, she is a contemporary dance choreographer and educator working with kids and teens at Logrea Dance Academy in Ossining. Alissa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics & the Arts from Bates College. She has also completed advocacy training for school age students with disabilities. Alissa is thrilled to be bringing her multifaceted expertise to the Sing Sing Prison Museum.

Joseph Roukos

MUSEUM ASSOCIATE
Joseph Roukos is a Museum Associate at the Sing Sing Prison Museum. Prior to joining the Museum, Joseph has worked in the Environmental, Social and Governance, ESG sector, reviewing and writing about various child labor and poor working conditions within the supply chain of the largest publicly traded companies in the United States. He holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Environmental Systems from Pratt Institute. During his time at Pratt, he worked as a gallery attendant at Pratt Manhattan Gallery. Joseph is delighted to apply a system thinking approach acquired from his previous experience and education to the Sing Sing Prison Museum. ​
